BODY STORIES

Segmental Bodymind Release Method

May 1-3, 2009 - Eugene, Oregon

Indeed, my body seems to just dangle along under me.  I no longer approach the world with my body but on my body.  I’m up here, it’s down there, and I’m basically uneasy about just what it is that is down there.  My consciousness is almost exclusively head consciousness – I am my head, but I own my body.  Ken Wilbur.

By linking awareness with direct bodily experience, our inner story is revealed. Underlying emotions, patterns of stress and new found wisdom emerge to make healing a meaningful experience. Both the practitioner and patient then have a greater understanding of internal dynamics, and the next steps towards health. Patients feel empowered to move to a new level of self care.

In this workshop we will use the Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure method to release points and tension in specific segments of the body.  These segments correspond to horizontal zones where musculature and energy are compromised due to physical and psycho-emotional patterns of blocking.

Along with the hands-on energy work, we will practice bodymind focusing methods designed to help distinguish thinking from sensation and to direct our client’s awareness away from thoughts and toward kinesthetic experience.
