TRANSFORMATION AND BARRIERS SERIES:
Nourishment and Centering in the Self

November 1-2, 2008

In this workshop you will learn to identify and work with mental and emotional patterns that influence the way people internalize stress in the area of basic needs and support for themselves and others.  These patterns affect emotional balance and body chemistry and lead to symptoms like chronic digestive problems, eating issues, adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalance, headaches and insomnia.  In the emotional realm there are feeling states like chronic discontent, worry and obsessive thinking, anxiety and depression.

We will practice and add to our bodymind skills to explore these issues and support transformation.  We will learn about the interface of the psychological model of the Sensitivity Cycle, the Five Element Cycle of Chinese Medicine which gives perspective about where people get stuck and. how we can support  change that wants to happen.  Working at this level greatly increases the effectiveness of treatment, and encourages healing at a deep level.

The workshop will include specific qigong exercises and meditation that can be used by the practitioner or taught to others.
