Monday Women’s Qigong and Meditation Group
Join us for three Mondays in January for nurturing evenings of movement, self-care, meditation practices and group support. This group is oriented around women’s issues and the potential we share as women to create harmony and hold a container for new birth and change.
In 2021 our themes will come from the natural forces and qualities of the five elements as taught in Daoism and Chinese medicine. We will start in January with the physical, emotional and spirit dimensions of the water element, which is associated with the germinating power of winter. Water is amazing. It has depth, great storing capacity, lots of potential, and the will to flow around obstacles in its path.
The health of the water element in the body is reflected in the bones, brain, hydration levels, and general aging process of the body. We will focus our qigong and self-care methods to enhance the quality of the water we drink and the health of the water element in the body. We’ll practice meditation to guide us into the deeper waters of wisdom and intuition.
In February, our learning will come from water’s “mother”, the metal element with its qualities of vitality, discernment, and the desire for social justice. Health is reflected in the quality of our breathing, and the health of our lungs and large intestine, and we will focus our qigong and self-care there.
