The focus of this class is inner cultivation using moving qigong as a meditative experience that culminates in sitting meditation practice. Our guidelines come from both Daoist inner cultivation practices and the 8 fold path of yoga.
There is a self-awareness aspect of this class based on the energetics of the meridians that are in focus during the month. In March and April, we’ll consider how we can use the powerful aspects of spring to channel energy towards what really nourishes us and what we want to manifest this year. At the same time, we’ll look at inner patterns and beliefs that may get in our way.
This is in keeping with the Large Intestine (March) and Stomach (April) meridian realms and the energetics of the second and third chakras.
We’ll let our practice help us access a balance of effort, discernment, self-control, and awareness that allows the inner truth of the heart to penetrate through difficulties.
In addition to qigong and meditation we will use a tapping practice to activate these meridians and stimulate important points on their channels.
Dates:: Five Monday evenings, March 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17.
Time: 6:30pm – 8 pm
Location: March 20 class is online via zoom; To create a more personal space for meditating together, the last four classes will be held at White Lotus Gallery with a zoom option. Meditating together in the same space creates a special vibration we can all share.
