SUMMARY:Qigong and Meditation Class Mar. 20 - Apr. 17
DESCRIPTION:Qigong and Meditation Class Series\nThe focus of this class is inner cultivation using moving qigong as a meditative experience that culminates in sitting meditation practice. Our guidelines come from both Daoist inner cultivation practices and the 8 fold path of yoga. \nThere is a self-awareness aspect of this class based on the energetics of the meridians that are in focus during the month. In March and April\, we’ll consider how we can use the powerful aspects of spring to channel energy towards what really nourishes us and what we want to manifest this year. At the same time\, we’ll look at inner patterns and beliefs that may get in our way. \nThis is in keeping with the Large Intestine (March) and Stomach (April) meridian realms and the energetics of the second and third chakras. \nWe’ll let our practice help us access a balance of effort\, discernment\, self-control\, and awareness that allows the inner truth of the heart to penetrate through difficulties. \nIn addition to qigong and meditation we will use a tapping practice to activate these meridians and stimulate important points on their channels.\nDates:: Five Monday evenings\, March 20\, 27\, April 3\, 10\, 17. \nTime: 6:30pm – 8 pm \nLocation: March 20 class is online via zoom; To create a more personal space for meditating together\, the last four classes will be held at White Lotus Gallery with a zoom option. Meditating together in the same space creates a special vibration we can all share. \nFee and Register: $100 ($90 if paid by March 15)\, via this link\, or send a check to Kamala Quale at 966 Lorane Hwy\, Eugene\, OR 97405 \nRecommended: Recordings and readings from January Meridians and Meditation class ($35). Talk with Kamala about this. \nMeridian Health Almanac\, by Kamala Quale\,\n \n Buy Now on Square

SUMMARY:Introduction to Qigong
DESCRIPTION:Qigong “waters” the seeds of our lives by enabling us to find our in-the-moment energetic center that we can come back to time after time when stress or challenging life experiences throw us off track. With visualization and openheartedness\, we connect to nature and those around us. \nThis 3-week online class will introduce you to the style of qigong that we practice and is a pre-requisite to join the Thursday morning women’s practice group\, \nDates and time: Tuesdays\, Jan 10\, 17\, 24\, 8:30 am – 9:30 am \nLocation: online via zoom \nFee: $45 \n \n Buy Now

SUMMARY:Meridians and Meditation Class
DESCRIPTION:This is a new offering for those interested in taking a deeper look into the body\, mind and spirit aspects of ourselves through the inner science of the meridians and meditation. In January we will consider the Liver meridian. We’ll trace the pathway and learn key points that can be used for self-care. \nIn the body the Liver network creates the smooth flow of our nervous system and hormones in addition to its digestive functions. \nIn the psyche the Liver network is associated with our ability to dream and have a clear vision of our path. It also gives us the determination to labor and endure even when the end is not yet in sight\, like in pregnancy and giving birth. In the hologram of meridian flows it is associated with the month of January. \nSo who is the dreamer in us and how do we find and block our clarity? The answer to that is one that can only come from looking inside ourselves. Knowing the dreamer can help us decide which “seeds” to water and which are distractions. We’ll use qigong\, acupoints\, meditation and self-study to discover the answer for ourselves. \nDates and time: Monday evenings\, January 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, 6:30pm – 8:00 pm \nLocation: Online via zoom \nFee: $80 \nExperience with qigong is recommended \n \n Buy Now

SUMMARY:November Qigong Class
DESCRIPTION:Day/Time:Mondays Nov 14 – Dec 5\, 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm \nEnergetically speaking\, November is a quiet month with an inward-leading energy. This is good news in a year that has been very eventful\, chaotic\, and polarizing. To optimize grounding and centering energy it helps to have a practice that calms body and mind and opens us to the greater field of insight and vitality that surrounds us. This combination reduces stress and helps transform fear and stagnation so we can channel our freed-up life energy in productive ways. \nQigong practice meets these needs by focusing our minds on its graceful\, dance-like movements and slow\, regular breathing which releases tension\, increases awareness\, and takes you into an open and fluid meditative state where insight abounds. The harmonious rhythm of breath\, movement and visualization helps regulate our nervous systems and balance heart and brain. \nQuiet November energy correlates to the subtle Triple Warmer meridian. This meridian has a name and function\, but no specific organ related to it. It is the name for the source energies and mechanisms that operate in the background to keep us in homeostasis and balance. In addition to our qigong form which zeros in on the Triple Warmer (or three burning spaces)\, we will learn more about this meridian and its partners along with some acupoints we can stimulate to support its functions. It is especially useful when we feel stressed and out of balance. \nOur form\, Tian Dao Shen Ming Gong from the Mt Emei school\, encourages looseness and flexibility of the spine and enhances our awareness of the subtle circulation of spiritual energies within. The spine is a key element in the regulation of the whole bodymind. \nWe are also in the transitional season of autumn heading into winter. There is abundance\, but also the need to let go and reorganize. This critical function helps us reduce stress and feel more productive as we reorient and refocus. As a part of that\, I will encourage us to become more aware of the effects of fearful and limiting patterns in our lives and bodies and use the practice and insights we receive to help us feel clear and vital. \nAll levels\, beginning to advanced\, are invited. \nFee: $120. Includes optional Thursday morning qigong practice (the Thursday morning practice is a women’s group) \n \n Buy Now

SUMMARY:Beginning Qigong
DESCRIPTION:Qigong is a practice that opens us to deeper levels of our present experience in our bodies and in the world around us. We relax and strengthen our bodies\, quiet our minds\, and refine our awareness through graceful stretching\, moving\, walking\, and breathing combined with an alert presence and visualization. This is called “nourishing life” practice because we refresh our vitality and health as we feel our oneness with the greater universe and absorb its abundance of life force energy\, or qi. At the same time\, we let go of tension in the body and the mind and clear an inner space for clarity and self-observation. \nIf you want to bring new energy and a fresh perspective into your life in 2022\, I invite you to this 6-week online class which will prepare you to join other Moon and Lotus qigong classes in Eugene. \nDates: Tuesday evenings\, February 8 – March 15\, 2022 \nTimes: First class 6:30 pm – 8 pm; following classes 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm \nPlace: online via zoom \nFee:  $60 if paid by Feb 1 and $75. after Feb 1.  If that amount is difficult for you now please send an email to kquale@moonandlotus.com.  I do not want finances to be a barrier. \n \n Buy Now
